Musician and comedian Vance Gilbert said in a song during his set at Black Bear Music Fest that he has yet been paid. He also noted in the song that he had not yet seen a black bear at the venue. He sang that he had not seen one "neither here nor there". A representative of DEEP stated that there were indeed bear within earshot of the stage.
