A San Antonio Chick-Fil-A manager is going viral after he was filmed praying over customers in the restaurant's dining room area, telling them to "stick to God" while they were eating.

The video was first posted in a Tuesday TikTok update by user @scottmalouff. As of Thursday, it's racked up over 32,000 views and more than 7,000 likes. Commenters identified the man as "Mr. Matt" at the chicken chain's Northwoods location, at 18120 San Pedro Ave.

Reached by phone Thursday, an employee at the location confirmed "Mr. Matt," or Matthew, was the manager of this location, although he was not available to speak with the Express-News. In a Wednesday evening X update, Danielle Gill - wife of conservative Texas congressman Brandon Gill - reposted the video.

"This San Antonio, Texas Chick-fil-A manager has gone viral for praying for his customers and encouraging them to 'stick to God' during lunch," she wrote in the post caption. "More of this, please! God bless him. 🙏"

Many commenters expressed support for the manager in the video posted by @scottmalouff.

"this is Mr. Matt! I had the pleasure of working w him at cfa northwoods 🩷truly an amazing kind man!" wrote @josie.

"This is the Northwoods location in San Antonio! He's so kind every time we go," added @Kels.

"This was so wholesome 🥹🙏🏽" wrote 𝒜𝓂𝒷ℯ𝓇𝓁𝓎♡.

However, many commenters on Gill's repost expressed different sentiments.

"I would've left!! It's always the evil ones trying to talk about God," @boujiebaddie wrote.

"I have accepted Christ as my lord and savior and I would have got up and left," added @PNWman26.

"It's pretty much common knowledge that these restaurants are owned and operated by Christians," @Reagan4Mc wrote. "That said, seeing some praying go down during a visit shouldn't be controversial at all."

In the past, Chick-Fil-A's founding family has faced heavy backlash for expressing what many critics called an "anti-gay" stance.

"I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,'" former Chick-Fil-A President Dan Cathy said in a 2012 interview with Baptist Press. "I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to try to redefine what marriage is about."
