California’s attorney general Rob Bonta has released what he calls a “smoking gun” in a lawsuit accusing Amazon of illegal price fixing. He says emails show Amazon strong-arming vendors into raising their prices on other websites and outright pulling their products from stores so that Amazon would seem like the better deal. Amazon denies the claims. The lawsuit is scheduled to go to trial in 2027.
