As a resident writer on the BuzzFeed Shopping team, I can't believe that I get to search the internet to help you find the best, most unique, life-changing products for my job. My name is Daysha, and I've had the privilege of not only traveling to Italy for a week when I was in high school (I studied Latin), but I also got to study abroad there for four months when I was in college! I even got fluent enough to where I had a few dreams in Italian. And when I lived there, I really made it my mission to explore as much of the country as I could. Visiting the first ever Prada store in Milan, celebrating Carnival in Venice, enjoying focaccia bread on the beautiful shores of Cinque Terre, and sightseeing all over Tuscany, I learned A LOT about the country and what one might need to really make the most of their trip there (like stretchy clothes, especially lightweight pants, so you can accommodate all the delicious fresh food you will be stuffing your face with). Here are some items I've compiled that I think will really allow you to enjoy your trip to Europe as much as possible. From making the most of the hours-long flight there to transporting all your goodies home safely, and everything in between, I'm gonna make sure you do Italy right, besties. I flew to Florence from Boston, which on average can be between 8 and 11+ hours. So, if you're flying there from anywhere in the US, then trust it's gonna be a loooooong trip, and you're definitely going to want to invest in some quality noise-canceling headphones (especially if you end up seated next to or near small children on your flight). Eight-plus hours of listening to screaming or "Baby Shark" playing fifty'leven times — no, thank you and thank you, but NO. These upgraded AirPods Pro not only have 2x more active noise cancellation than the prior version, but they also have live translation! So, you might not be able to respond back as beautifully, but at least you'll be able to understand all the intricate details about the bag you're trying to buy at the leather market from the shop owner who only speaks Italian. Promising review: "The AirPods Pro 3 are absolutely next level! The active noise cancellation is outstanding — it completely blocks out the world when you need it. Sound quality is rich, clear, and immersive with the spatial audio. The live translation feature is a game-changer for travel, and the heart rate sensing is a fantastic bonus for workouts. The hearing aid feature is incredibly impressive and something truly unique to this generation. They fit comfortably and stay put all day. USB-C charging is so convenient. Apple really outdid itself with this one. Worth every penny!" —Susan Isn't it wild that in the year of 2026 we have robots trying to do dishes or fighting in boxing matches before airlines have TV screens on flights with Bluetooth capabilities? ...I know, a mess. But alas, here we are. And to be on an 8- to 11-hour flight with corded headphones just feels so archaic and wrong. Not to mention that if you end up in the dreaded middle seat and the window person has to go to the bathroom every 20 minutes, it will def become v annoying to be constantly unplugging them. So, lemme put you on to the Airfly wireless transmitter that will give you all the Bluetooth freedom that you crave by just plugging it into the headphone jack! It also comes with a USB-C charging cable, travel pouch, and keychain holder to make keeping track of it a breeze. Twelve South is a small business that has been creating innovative tech accessories since 2009. BuzzFeed Shopping contributor Jessica Hall says: "I recently went on an eight-hour flight, and I was super annoyed about the concept of wearing wired headphones that are stuck in my ears for that long. I knew the only way I was going to be even reasonably comfortable was if I was wearing my over-the-ear headphones, but of course, the problem with that is that they use Bluetooth. Thankfully, I've been writing about this product for a while, so I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to give it a try. It is honestly the perfect answer to being able to use your own Bluetooth headphones. I would absolutely recommend these to anyone going on a long flight!!" Get it from Amazon for $54.99+ (available in four styles and in six colors). Now, whether you have first-class seats or economy, sleeping on a flight can still be a torturous hell because it's not your bed. But if you're gonna be on a v long flight, as well as changing time zones, it only makes sense to try and get some shut eye so you can better acclimate to the time changes when you land. That's why a Pluto Pod just might be the best investment. It's a specially designed travel pillow that basically creates your own little sleep cocoon with built-in neck support, a hood, and even an eye mask to block out the chaos around you. I have to say, not only is it super chic-looking, but it's also very compact and can be easily attached to your suitcase for simple transportability. Promising reviews: "The Pluto pillow made my international travel a breeze! I was able to sleep soundly on my flights and experienced little to no jet lag. It is a fabulous product. Thank you!" —Lizzy C "Spent at least half of a 12-hour Frankfurt to San Francisco flight cocooned in my personal Pluto pod. Popped in some earplugs, dropped the Pluto shade, and I was out like a light, even when the flight attendants threw the cabin into a full spotlight and dished out their microwave meals. Total game changer." —Andrew T. Get it from Pluto for $145 (available in gray or black). And you'll definitely want a good blanket to make sleeping on the flight nice and cozy. Well, it gives me so much pleasure to introduce you to this luxuriously soft travel blanket that will really bring out your inner Tiffany Haddish because all you'll be able to say after one touch is "OOOO, this is NOOOIIIICEEE!" Like, truly, the softness of this gem is unreal. I was gifted one, and had been told that this blanket was next-level in terms of coziness. But even with that warning, I was not prepared for how my body just *melted* into this blanket when I wrapped it around my shoulders. Like, for real, for real, this level of softness feels like it could only be achieved by magic or sorcery. And it's SO lightweight and oversize. I can definitely see why Oprah named it one of her favorite things. E Marie is a Black woman-owned small biz that creates luxe clothing items, blankets, and accessories so that you always feel comfy while traveling. Promising review: "Gifted this to my brother and his wife. They love it and can't stop raving about how perfect it is for their Friday family movie nights! I haven't seen it in person, but he's sent pictures of the wife and kids snuggled under it, and it looks great. Ordering myself one. —Mark Get it from E Marie for $59.20 (originally $148; available in six colors). Again, stretchy clothes are key when traveling to Italy. But you also want to keep it cute and stylish because lemme tell you the Italians don't play about fashion. It's so funny how easy it was to spot tourists in a crowd of Italians, partially because they just wear their clothes so well. And it's not like they were wearing anything fancy — it could just be jeans and a tee, but I'll tell ya, they worked that basic jeans and tee like the rent was due today at 5 p.m. sharp, OK? But this rec is more for the fact that being on a long flight can be v uncomfortable. So, you definitely want a flying outfit that gives you that sweatpants-level comfort while also allowing you to look put together. This sleeveless, high-waisted gem is full-length with an elastic waist, easy to put on and take off, and has real pockets (!!!) to keep your boarding pass, phone, and ID handy. Just pair with a light cardi, and you'll be the definition of cozy travel chic. Promising review: "I absolutely love this romper. The stretch is amazing! I originally ordered a large based on reviews, and it was way too big, so I decided to order the medium, and even that was big, so I decided to order one more time and did the small, and that fit perfectly! This romper is sooo comfy, perfect for traveling, running errands, or just lounging in." —Yvonne Get it from Amazon for $27.54+ (available in women's sizes S–XXL and in 12 colors/prints). Hi — did I mention how long this flight is? Because I remember thinking in my mind it wasn't gonna be that long if I slept. And even with sleeping for several hours and watching a movie, we were still somehow in the air, and I was losing my mind. So, I'd def make sure you also pack some entertainment for yourself, like this newest version of the Kindle Paperwhite. It can hold *thousands* of books within its 16 GB of storage; it turns pages 25% faster than the older version (so you can finally get to the bottom of that last cliffhanger chapter a lot quicker); you can easily adjust brightness, screen warmth, and font size; plus it's waterproof! So, if you do happen to have some time to lounge on the gorgeous shorelines of Cinque Terre, you can bust out this baby with no fear of water damage. *Also* did I mention you barely have to charge it? A lot of reviewers report charging it around once a month, but it can last up to 12 weeks on a single charge! And here's a nifty strap you can get that'll make it easier to hold. Promising review: "I'm a hardcore actual book (made of paper) lover, and set in my ways, but one of my favorite authors has begun publishing their books on Amazon, and you can't get them via libraries, etc., so I had to buy an e-reader. It takes some getting used to, and some cussing, but I do like it now. I do still prefer old-fashioned books, but I will admit that e-readers have several advantages. I was worried that the light would hurt my eyes and cause migraines, due to my extreme light sensitivity, but it doesn't. The light is adjustable and easy on the eyes (and head). The battery lasts forever. It holds SO MANY books. It's very lightweight. I have no complaints." —Tahnna Get it from Amazon for $159.99+ (available in three colors, with or without Kindle Unlimited and with or without lockscreen ads) Now, I cannot stress enough how important it is to have at least one pair of comfortable, reliable shoes (especially if you're doing a lot of sightseeing). In Italy, and honestly, Europe in general, they don't really do the whole elevator thing because they care more about the preserving history thing. That means seeing a lot of historic sights requires walking up many flights of stairs, on cobblestone or just on decaying, uneven surfaces — which will have your dogs HOWLING after just a day. So, save yourself the torture and make sure you grab a pair of these Dr. Scholl's sneakers. They're lightweight, easy-to-slip-on foot pillows with supportive insoles that'll make hours of walking feel like nothing to your feet. ~Plus~, they're made from a water-resistant material that is a lifesaver if you get caught in surprise rain. Promising review: "I'm writing this from Germany because I promise you these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned! I have wide toes, and I always get blisters on my pinky toes when I walk a lot in normal shoes. I bought these for a summer in Europe, and my toes have not hurt once! And I have done back-to-back theme park days, walking around Salzburg, MILES AND MILES, and they are still so comfy. If you have wide feet, THESE ARE FOR YOU!" —Emma Get them from Amazon for $39.38+ (available in women's sizes 4–13, including wide sizes, and 47 colors). But if you do end up opting for cuter shoes so you can keep up with the stylish Italians, at least make sure you grab this blister-preventing balm, since nothing ruins a travel day more than discovering a sore spot where your shoes have been brushing up against your feet. This stuff creates a non-greasy barrier that protects them from rubbing and chafing. And it's packed with vitamins A and C to calm any irritation or dryness, making it the perfect little lifesaver for long sightseeing days. BodyGlide is a small business that specializes in chafe-preventing personal care products. Promising review: "Wow. I took this on vacation, during which we walked about 20,000 steps daily. And, of course, my shoes begin to rub against parts of my feet terribly. But I smeared this on, and it was amazing. I did have to reapply a few times a day, in public, but I highly recommend this!! I used it on my toes, ankle area, etc., and my feet felt great (normal)." —Y. And you have to bring along these heated foot booties by Dr. Scholl's that'll help revive your tired toesies from a long day on your feet. Infused with Epsom salt, menthol, and lovely-smelling essential oils like lavender and peppermint, they warm up on their own and melt away foot aches with ~very little~ effort on your part. They’re quick to get on, mess-free, and so wildly effective that it feels...irresponsible to not get them, ya know? Check out a TikTok of the foot masks in action. BuzzFeed Shopping writer Emma Lord has this to say about them: "I'm a long-ish distance runner, and these were certainly an interesting experience for my feet! You slide them on and, after a few minutes, feel a tingling, mildly burning (in a good way) sensation. It doesn't quite numb your feet, but it relaxes them. I kept them on for 30 minutes and then toweled my feet off, and the tingling sensation slowly faded over the next 30 minutes. After that, my feet felt very refreshed and relaxed at a time of day when they're usually aching from all the miles I put in. The whole thing was a mess-free, easy process, and I will definitely keep them on hand for longer run days!" Promising review: "Very soothing. My husband and I used these on our European vacation, and they definitely felt good on our feet!" —KS2018 Get a set of three pairs from Amazon for $11.97. Once you're in Europe, it's actually quite easy to travel between different countries. So, if you decide you want to do a quick day trip to a neighboring country, just make sure you also have one of these handy universal adapters so you're never caught with a low battery somewhere. It's got different ports (including USB-A and USB-C) so you can charge more than one device at once! And it’s got built-in safety features like surge protection and plug locks. Promising review: "As an international flight attendant, I am in different countries weekly. While the all-in-one adapters, in theory, are great, they often are too big/heavy to stay in the socket securely — you are much better off with one like this. It is sturdy in the socket, even with an electric cord (my hair curler) and my phone and iPad all plugged in. Very satisfied!" —Susan H. Pickpocketing is definitely a huge thing in Italy. So you'll want to keep your phone, cards, and cash neatly tucked away and ideally close to your body. This crossbody phone wallet not only has an RFID blocker to keep data thieves from stealing your information, but it's also slim, secure, and keeps all of your essentials organized and within reach. Plus, the chic colors, faux leather, and shiny gold details make it look designer-level fancy without the designer-level price tag. Claasico is a small business that specializes in wallets and tech accessories. Promising review: "Loved everything about it. Only problem is I can never find my purse since it isn't necessary 99% of the time. Hands-free carrying is great, and it can even fit a pen, stylus, and checks in with my phone. I can also attach my keys! This is a great purchase. Shoppers at stores have asked me where I bought it because they wanted one too." —Kindle Customer Get it from Amazon for $25.92+ (available in nine colors). You could also consider this v stylish, but practical sling bag from Calpak. It's not only constructed from waterproof materials, but it's got pockets on pockets on pockets to hide all your valuables, while also keeping essentials easily within reach. Plus, the versatile strap design means you have two options for hands-free styling — either strapping it across your body or your waist. Promising reviews: "Such a great travel bag! Has the right amount of pockets. The strap isn't heavy, so your shoulders won't hurt after wearing it for hours!" —Jessica "I love that this has different compartments, but my favorite element is the thick adjustable strap. As someone with a large chest, I love that I can still wear it across without it being tight or uncomfortable." —Nicole F. Get it from Calpak for $43.20+ (available in seven colors). Plus, you can grab these clever anti-pickpocketing clips if you really want to be on the safe side. They'll keep the two zipper pulls on your bag clipped together so no one can get in there without it being extremely obvious. And they're also really great to have if a bag or suitcase zipper breaks during your travels. Promising review: "Perfect for international travel! Easy to use and protected against theft/pickpockets. Used it on my recent trip to Europe!" —Rachel Bristol Get a four-pack from Amazon for $12.99 (available in three color combos). As I mentioned, you're gonna be eating A LOT of food on this trip, which means you'll definitely want to keep some wipes handy in case any of it gets all over your hands. But these individually wrapped cleansing wipes are not just great for keeping your hands clean. They’re made with ultra-purified water and soothing ingredients like aloe and cucumber, which makes them gentle enough to also use to freshen up during long travel days, overnight train rides, or anywhere a bathroom situation feels slightly questionable. Plus, they're flushable and unscented. Promising reviews: "Travel does strange things to the system, and sometimes you need a little 'cleanup on aisle 5' if you get the drift. These are pleasant, fit discreetly in a pocket, and have a nice aroma (given the usage circumstances). You won’t regret having these in your travel kit." —Jessica Truhan "Really nice size, doesn’t irritate me (I have VERY sensitive skin), definitely cleans well! A tad thin, but doesn’t tear easily. Love them! Will be repurchasing" —Dria Get a pack of 30 from Amazon for $12.99. Italy is a gorgeous place that's filled with SO many beautiful sights. From the way your spaghetti is plated to seeing The Leaning Tower of Pisa and so many other historical landmarks, your phone is definitely gonna be out snapping pics constantly. But that also means your battery is going to be working overtime, and you def don't want to be caught at 3% while out and about. So, make sure you grab yourself one of these portable charging banks. This particular one is great because it has four different types of charging cables built in! So, no having to manage a bunch of different cords, and you can even help out your friend with an Android if they get caught in a low-battery situation. Promising review: "Okay, when I travel, I take a lot of videos and many photos, so it doesn’t take me long to run out or be low on my battery. Recently, I traveled to Hawaii and was able to catch so many shots and videos without the fear of having a dead battery! When you’re flying, traveling around the world, or at different conferences, no need to worry about your battery charge! This device has you covered!" —Shannan C. Get it from Amazon for $20.99 (available in six colors). So, I know the last thing you want to think about on your amazing Italian vacation is the potential for rain, but it can definitely happen. And I don't want you caught out there cold and soaked (unless that is part of you setting up a storybook meet-cute experience with your future lover — to which I say, play on, playa!). But for the rest of y'all, you'll def want something that's lightweight and easy to carry while also being durable, which I think The North Face captured perfectly with this rain jacket. It's designed to be both protective and packable — so, the breathable material will keep you comfortable, the water- and windproof shell, along with the adjustable hood, will handle all those sudden showers with ease. And you'll be able to carry it around all day without it feeling like a burden. Promising review: "Nice and easy rain jacket. Not too short in body (but I am short, so it hits perfect, could be short if you are really tall). Fit is a little oversize, but I like it. Not tight on the tummy, and room for a long sleeve layer in my arms and body. It sounds a little crunchy as you move, but most rain jackets do. White color is clean and crisp looking." —Christie Get it from Macy's or Amazon for $140 (available in five colors and in women's sizes XXS–3XL). But if you'd prefer something with an even lighter footprint, Rifle Paper Co. has designed the most gorgeous, packable ponchos for spring and summer. It’s made from a lightweight, water-resistant material and packs down into a compact pouch, so it takes up almost no space in your bag. It gives you quick, full coverage, is a lot easier to maneuver through a crowd of tourists at The Colosseum than an umbrella, and comes in a variety of fun prints. Get it from Rifle Paper Co. for $50 (available in four prints). It's always great to have a hat handy when sightseeing on a sunny day. But you also don't want something that's going to be a hassle to carry around when not in use. That's where this cute, packable straw fedora hat comes in. Made from breathable, lightweight straw, this gem can be folded without fear of it losing its shape! Plus, the wide brim gives you up to UPF 80 protection, while the black ribbon detail keeps it chic and timeless. Promising review: "Perfect hat! Adjustable and lightweight. The black band and the style/width of the brim resulted in numerous compliments. A woman on my plane asked for the link and bought it right then and there. I never took this off during my tropical vacay. Highly recommend." —Mjanaynay Get it from Amazon for $24.69+ (available in two sizes and nine styles). Or, if you're known for overheating easily, then I'd def consider this wide-brimmed bucket hat that has built-in, solar-powered fans! The fabric is made with UPF 50+ to give you optimal sun protection, while the fans ensure you always have a cool, steady, hands-free breeze on you while you’re out exploring. UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) is a measure of how much UV radiation reaches your skin through a fabric. UPF 50 means it's designed to block 98% of the sun's rays. Promising reviews: "It was a gift for my dad and he loved it! Not only is it cooling on a warm day, but it also keeps the bugs out of your face. He lives on a lake and spends time outside, and this was a great way to keep the sun off him and just make it way more comfortable on the dock, in the yard, or out in a boat." —Anna Roon "Dorky in the best possible way! We use it in Florida while doing yard work. The fans really make a difference! They keep our faces cool and help repel insects. 4/5 stars simply because the solar fans have to be in DIRECT sunlight. Otherwise, they weaken. However, the batteries are very powerful and long-lasting. We accidentally left the fans on for 12 hours. They turned off automatically at some point, but turned on again with no problem. The hat fits my husband's larger head well (24 inches around). There is an adjustment strap, so it fits my smaller head also. And it is comfortable! The color came as expected, and it does not feel heavy when worn." —Pink Panther Get it from Amazon for $25.99+ (available in 11 colors). Again, if you're gonna be checking out all the historical sites that Italy has to offer (and you def should), then you're gonna wanna make sure you keep what you have on you very light, since there can be a lot of walking and going up stairs involved. That's why I highly recommend this collapsible water bottle. This sturdy, squishy bottle is made from food-grade silicone, which means you can safely enjoy every sip and easily fold it away when it's empty. Plus, not only will it be easy to carry around while sightseeing, but it's also great to have while you're flying so that you can easily free up space in your carry-on for any goodies you find at the airport gift shop. Promising review: "These are great travel bottles. They easily fold up pretty small and hold up well. They did not leak at all and were easy to drink from. However, if you tip it when it's open or squeeze it, the water will flow out around the straw. That is, when open, it will leak. The straw is optional, but it works well. As for smell and taste, I followed both of their suggestions in the package — I boiled them briefly and then also put lemon slices with water in them for a few hours. They have no taste at all on first and subsequent uses thereafter. These are a win!" —Catgirl Get it from Amazon for $14.99+ (available in six colors and in packs of two). So, I'm not one to get car sick. But of the few times in which I have been, one time was when I was traveling down the winding roads to get to the Amalfi Coast. In fact, many parts of Italy can be hilly and full of twists and turns, which is why I'd also keep some Sea Bands on you. These miraculous little wristbands apply pressure to your P6 acupressure point, which can help to calm nausea. Read more about acupressure and nausea at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Promising review: "I’ve struggled with being car sick my whole life. If someone else is driving, I can’t read in the car, I can’t be on my phone in the car, I can’t really do anything besides just look straight. I would get sick to my stomach and get a horrible headache. I purchased these because I saw a review about them on TikTok, and I really did not want to get sick on my next vacation. Let me tell you what, I haven’t been car sick while wearing these, NOT EVEN FOR A SECOND. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I can’t say enough good things about these little wrist bands. I have no idea how they work but thank you!!!!!" —Courtney Get a set of two from Amazon for $8.53 (available in six colors and packs of one or two). The warmer months in Italy can be HOT, especially because a lot of the northern and coastal regions are prone to humidity. So, if even reading that already has you sweating, you'll def want to pack one of these genius, hands-free neck fans. It has five speeds to choose from and a hefty, rechargeable battery that can last up to 16 hours (!!) on the lowest setting. It'll also be great at keeping you cool on your flight, since we all know that airplane "air conditioning" can be a lie (especially when boarding). Promising review: "If you’re traveling somewhere warm or if you run hot, this is a lifesaver. I used this for my entire two-week vacay to Italy in June and would have been miserable without it. It has five strength settings, is pretty quiet, and kept me from getting heatstroke as I hit all the tourist spots in 90-degree weather. I even use it at home when I’m blow-drying my hair! It keeps me from sweating! Another must-buy." —Andrea Get it from Amazon for $27.87+ (available in five colors). Now, I don't know what your accommodations situation is gonna be. But if you're trying to live in a real "authentic" Italian home instead of a hotel for your stay, then you should also know that many homes in European countries don't really have AC like how we do in the States. So, I'd very much recommend packing a personal, adjustable fan. This little angel has three speeds, a rechargeable battery, and bendy tripod legs that can wrap perfectly around your bed frame — so you can aim the breeze exactly where you need it. It can last for up to 10 hours on the lowest speed. Plus, it's super quiet and has a built-in light to help guide you to the bathroom for a midnight pee. Promising review: "These fans are perfect for a table and/or a small area. It works great by the bedside when you are hot, and your significant other is not. It runs so quietly and lasts for hours. The LED flashlight is a huge bonus. I dropped something, and it went under the bed. Bingo, the built-in light on the fan was there to save me. This works so well that after a couple of weeks using it, I bought three more. We each have one by our side of the bed." —Kathey Anderson Get it from Amazon for $26.99 (available in six colors). There's truly nothing I hate more than being hot and sweaty when I'm trying to sleep. So, if you know you're staying at a hostel or home with no AC, it might be worth it to pack one of these self-cooling body pads. Coolness kicks in the second pressure hits the pad — giving you sweet, icy relief with no electricity, water, or freezer time required for up to three hours. And! It even “recharges” on its own after a short 20-minute break. Plus, it folds up easily, which makes it great for travel. Promising review: "I was pleasantly surprised at how well this product cools. I felt it right away, and it lasts a while. Very happy with the purchase. I bought two. I love them." —NM A pair of lightweight pajamas could also help you sleep more comfortably in such a warm climate (especially if sleeping naked is not your thing or your circumstances keep you from being able to). May I introduce you to these "second skin" PJs from Tommy Johns that will not only feel heavenly against your skin, but will make you want to go "ahhhhhh" the moment you put them on. I own a pair, and the fabric is sooooo lightweight and silky on your skin. And as a plus girlie, I really appreciate that the shorts 1) have pockets and 2) have a lovely stretch that hugs your body without feeling restrictive. It is a tad on the sheer side, though. It comes oversize so that the top and the pants drape effortlessly off your frame, and both pieces are easy to mix and match with other items in your wardrobe. P.S. The seller doesn't recommend sizing up for an oversize look because of the loose and stretchy material. Promising review: "This set fits so well! The material is nice and light, so good for any season. The pants are long, you could do heels or flats, and they wouldn’t look like high waters. I could have done a large, but I got it in an XL to be safe. I do recommend." —Sharonda Shaw Get it from Amazon for $41.99 (available in women's sizes S–XXL and 32 colors). You'll also definitely want a travel steamer to keep your fits nice and crisp as you try to go toe-to-toe with those v swanky and stylish Italians. This gem was designed to be easy to use and carry while traveling. It presses both sides at once like a flat iron for your hair, it heats up fast, and erases wrinkles without ever needing to drag out a bulky ironing board. Promising review: "Ordered this to bring to a wedding this past weekend, and it was a total hit. Perfect for getting last-minute wrinkles out of bridesmaid dresses! And will definitely be using it for touchups before work instead of lugging out my massive ironing board. Great purchase!" —Carolyn Toll Get it from Amazon for $119 (available in five colors). And you can keep this handy bottle of Downy wrinkle release spray on you for any wrinkle touch-ups while you're out and about. Just spritz a few sprays of this, smooth out your shirt, and in seconds, it will be magically wrinkle-free and smell divine. It's also great to have on hand because if you're staying in an Airbnb, you'll soon discover how rare it is for a home in Italy (and Europe in general) to have a dryer. They're all about that air-dry life, baby! So, if you're going to be there long enough to do a load of laundry, this will also help with smoothing out the wrinkles that come from air drying your clothes. Promising review: "I love this product! It gets wrinkles out in seconds, which is perfect when you are on your way out the door and don't have time to throw your clothes in the dryer again. Or on dress clothes you don't want going in the dryer. I've used this on decorative hand towels and table runners with deep creases in them from packaging. My husband has even tried this on his dry-clean-only dress clothes. It leaves a fresh, clean scent. Major time saver." —Lacey Albertson Get a pack of two bottles from Amazon for $18.99. No one leaves Italy without bringing back some new fashion pieces (or a suitcase full). So, you'll def want to plan ahead about how you're going to make room for all your new treasures, and that's where these super-compressing packing cubes come in. Just pack 'em up, zip the compression layer, and boom — instant space in your suitcase that feels unreal. And they even have a lil' ID pocket so you can label and keep track of where everything is. Promising review: "Bought these for my wife as she is a chronic overpacker. Highly recommend for the high quality, quantity that you get, and ease of packing. I appreciate the various sizes that can work with all types of luggage. All packing cubes can pack A LOT. She has used them several times, and they really helped her stay organized while fitting lots of outfits in a carry-on suitcase. Super easy to compress, even when I thought they wouldn't because they looked overpacked. The added cords on the zipper made them easy to compress and zip closed. I own other packing cubes that were double the price for four compression cubes, and these are much better in almost every regard. I will be purchasing my own set from this brand soon." —MHR Get a pack of six from Amazon for $25.47+ (available in 34 colors). Y'all... I can't believe that I was that person unpacking and repacking their suitcase at the airport to go home from study abroad, but I was (ehhh, I believe it a lil' bit —lemme stop lying lol). But lemme also tell you, in Italy they don't play about your suitcase and your carry-on being at the target weight, which obviously caught me by surprise since I've never had my carry-on weighed in the States. But this experience ultimately taught me how v important it is to know how much everything weighs before going to the airport. And that's why I gotta put you on to this super-accurate digital luggage scale that many reviewers claim matches the weight reflected on the airport scales. Plus, you can also switch between pound and kilogram measurements. Promising reviews: "I cannot imagine how we would have managed a big international trip without this. It saved us so much stress and, I’m sure, surprise charges at the airport." —Potter Freak "This scale works and was accurate on four flights. The first flight was a test at 46 pounds, and the Delta scales said it was 46 pounds. The next two flights were at 49 pounds, and both United and Delta found it to be 49 pounds. The bag on the fourth flight weighed 49, but the United scale found it to be 48 pounds. Four different airports and scales proved that this scale is a good, low-cost, must-have item for air travel." —Robert Get it from Amazon for $8.90+ (available in four colors and also a two-pack). We all know you can't go to the country known for its vino without trying to bring back some! But if you also live in constant fear of opening your suitcase to an alcohol-scented disaster, these reusable bottle protector bags will be your savior. They have a zipper seal, padded protection, and super-absorbent material on the inside that can soak up an entire 750 mL bottle (!!) if something breaks while in transit. JetBag is a small business specializing in creating bags to protect your wine and your stuff. Promising review: "I was a little nervous to transport alcohol back in my checked baggage after seeing how they fling things around without care, but these worked like a dream! Not one out of 6 (oops) bottles came back broken! Highly recommend!" —Melanie Get a set of three from Amazon for $15.99. * Travel Products That’ll Have Your Trip Companions Saying, “Woah, They’re A Pro” * Toys And Travel Activities That’ll Help Mute The Incessant “Are We There Yet?” * Flight Attendants Swear By These 27 Travel Products (So You Know They're Worth The Money) * Versatile Travel Pieces That Are Perfect For When You’ve Committed To Packing Light * Travel Essentials That'll Make Your Economy Seat Feel Like First Class * Must-Have Items For Your Next Universal Studios Trip * Pairs Of Shoes That’ll Help You Say Goodbye To Super Achy Feet At The End Of A Day Of Sightseeing * Things Here To Prove That, Yes, You Can Pack Light For Your Next Trip * Bathing Suits For Anyone Who Doesn’t Wanna Wear A Bikini On Their Next Vacation * Things You Definitely Don’t Want To Forget The Next Time You Take A Trip Plus, compression socks, pet carriers, travel wallets, portable chargers, things to pack if you're headed to Hawaii, and finds from Amazon and Walmart.
