"Brace for more terror attacks," warns the Sun, as the terror alert is raised to "severe". The Guardian and the Daily Mirror lead with the prime minister's visit to Golders Green, where two Jewish men were stabbed on Wednesday. The Guardian says Sir Keir's vowed to act against protesters "venerating the murder of Jews". The Mirror quotes him as saying "decent people should open their eyes to Jewish pain and fear." In its editorial, the Daily Mail says that since entering No 10, Sir Keir has allowed antisemitism to fester, as he tiptoed around upsetting the Muslim vote in key constituencies.

The i newspaper says the former deputy prime minister Angela Rayner has warned Sir Keir Starmer that more and more young people are feeling hopeless - amid cabinet speculation about her own future leadership ambitions. The Times says that with Rayner understood to be considering mounting a challenge to Sir Keir after next week's elections, some Labour ministers and MPs have launched what it calls an "Anyone but Ange" campaign. They're said to fear that she has enough support among grassroots Labour members to move the government to the left. The Daily Express claims what it calls her noisy narcissism and proletarian posturing has made her the darling of the activists.

The Guardian says solicitors have been inundated with requests to serve last-gasp "no fault" evictions, as landlords scrambled to beat the ban in England, which comes into effect from Friday. The Mail says middle-income landlords could face bankruptcy. It also quotes the Housing Secretary Steve Reed as saying that kicking tenants out before they receive stronger rights is the type of disgraceful behaviour from shameless landlords which the Renters' Rights Act will stop. The Metro says landlords of student flats are likely to be hit particularly hard, with many students now able to issue notice to leave their accommodation at the end of term - so that they won't have to pay over the summer holidays. "Mayday for Landlords" is its headline.

The Daily Telegraph says retailers are warning of a run on tumble dryers ahead of changes to the law that will phase them out to achieve Net Zero. In Matt's cartoon, a homeowner explains: "Ed Miliband's banned our tumble dryer - so we had it converted into a log burner."
