Cats are needy so if there’s a product out there to take a chore off your plate you should absolutely take advantage of it. I am a contributor and former BuzzFeed Shopping writer based in Cincinnati, OH where you can find me curating lists on ~a little bit of everything~ (and adding a few things to my own cart in the process). Promising review: "I cannot say enough about how amazing these gloves are. Compared to other brands we have tried, these are hands down the best!! They not only actually take a significant amount of fur off our cat, but he seems to enjoy the massage, and I feel like his coat is healthier and shinier now. The best part about these gloves is how EASY it is to remove the fur after grooming — it just slides off in clumps, which is much easier compared to others we have tried. Highly recommend for cats!!" —DesertCat Price: $24.99+ (originally $29.99; available in sizes junior–XL and three colors) You will still have to remove the waste from the drawer a couple of times a week, depending on how many cats you have. Somehow, going from two cats to three seemed to quadruple the amount they go to the bathroom?? Like, I'm sure I'm exaggerating, but I feel like I have to clean their boxes constantly. (And that's even after I already added an additional box!) Enter this magical robot. It has all kinds of sensor technology to know when a kitty is in the box, when the litter level is too low, when the waste drawer is full, and more. Basically, it senses the cat and sets a timer. After the cat is gone, it starts a countdown before the cleaning process starts. You can adjust the length of the countdown depending on whether you want to reduce odors or if you'd rather run it less frequently. When the time is up, it starts rotating, and all the clean litter gets sifted out, and the dirty clumps of litter continue rotating until they get dispensed in a little hole into the waste drawer underneath. Then it rotates the opposite way, refilling the bottom with the litter so it is clean and ready for the next kitty's use. This is seriously a game changer. Highly recommend if you're sick of cleaning out stinky boxes constantly. Promising review: "Honestly, I thought I was crazy for spending so much on a litter box. It has been a complete game changer as I no longer have to stress about a stinky litter box. My cat transitioned easily to it. I only have to empty the waste bin once a week with one cat, and it is much quieter than I was expecting. I wish I had bought it sooner. I have a large cat (16 pounds), and he fits in it no problem." —Laura Promising review: "Cleanest litter situation I’ve ever had in my 30+ years of having cats. It does track a little, probably because I have a big part–Maine coon cat with huge feet, so they get between his toes. But it’s a manageable amount and simple to pick up. The way the urine falls down onto the pad is genius. Makes the litter always seem clean! Where have you been all my life?!!" —Shannon Price: $42.45+ (originally $42.99+; available in three versions) Promising review: "I constantly fight with my vacuum. It gets clogged many, many times each week when I vacuum cat hair (many cats). I am so happy that doing this ahead of time has completely won my battle. 100% best pet purchase I've ever made!" —Darcy Promising review: "How quickly and efficiently it worked. I have three dogs and a calico cat who are all shedding their winter coats. I have covers on all the furniture, but everything in my den had a coat of white hair. My long-time housekeeper had used one at another customer's house, who also had lots of pets. She said they were much better than the tape rollers, and she was so right!" —Byron Promising review: "I LOVE this toy. My cat LOVES this toy. It keeps him distracted until it gets stuck under something, haha. I put him in the other room when I’m on work calls, and he plays. I do wish the battery lasted a little longer, but it’s amazing that it’s rechargeable. I’m buying another one so that there is always one with a battery ready for him to play with!" —roland Promising review: "I’ve tried many litter boxes and scoopers of all sizes, but this one is by far my favorite. I won’t use anything else! (Definitely getting another for backup!) The scoop is much larger than others I’ve used, and the litter falls through easily with a quick shake, making cleanup super fast. Since switching to this scooper, along with the right litter boxes and carpets, cleaning up after my cats has become effortless. I used to dread it, but now it’s a breeze!" —Jamie Price: $8.46+ (originally $14.95; also available in red) Promising review: "My little menace needed free-feeding dechonkification, and I didn't trust that I'd be able to feed the correct amount each day. With this device, I don't have to worry — she gets a small portion of her daily allotment distributed throughout the day so she's not hungry for long. Plus, she no longer whines at me for food because she knows the robot is in control! I'm impressed with the build quality, especially considering the price, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a little help with portion control or getting their furkid to stop bothering them for food." —Sarah Promising review: "Don't know why I didn't buy sooner. Our daughter, her bf, and cat recently moved in with us (we have three cats already!). Her cat eats Rx food and cannot eat our cats' food. These feeders allow her cat to enjoy free roam of the house. So easy to program with their microchips and works well. Our cats did not need the training setting as they adapted to them right away. I find that these are also helpful because the big orange boy was eating the girls' food, which no longer happens. Mind you, he occasionally chases them out when they’ve opened theirs, but it closes on him after he gets a bite, and then he moves on. I highly recommend these!" —Barb Promising review: "I had read on Reddit that someone recommended this product to help get the hair off of clothes. It was pretty clear just by the lint trap alone that this was doing its job. The added bonus here is that now our laundry dries SO much quicker. We used to have to add extra time on after a 90-minute dry cycle, but these little guys help agitate and keep air between the clothes, so now we’re dry in a little over an hour. :)" —Jenn Promising review: "Got this camera to check on my senior cat during the day. The live feed loads quickly, and the night vision is surprisingly clear. Being able to reassure her with the two-way audio has been a huge help. Really happy with this device so far." —Angelica Promising review: "Bought this on a whim, didn’t actually think my cats would be into it for very long. I swear to you, I have had to turn this thing back on constantly for the last three days. I have two cats who are cranky when it comes to sharing, but they have TEAMED up for this beast and actually are learning to coexist in their shared mission to defeat it. I would write more about how much of a hit it is, but my cat is staring at me, waiting for me to turn it back on for another go lol." —Amy Promising review: "So far so good at making scooping litter way easier to just dump it — that way I can clean my litter box more often without having to walk all the way to our trash bin at the end of our driveway! So we'll just see how the smell holds up. I just started using it, so I don't know yet, but as of now, I'm very happy, and it looks nice. Setup was easy!" —Ashley Promising review: "This pet hair removal roller isn't just easy and very effective to use, it is also very easy to clean. With three cats, one of them a long-haired Persian, we are constantly cleaning hair off the rugs and furniture. Oh, and also our own clothing after holding them on our laps for an extended petting session. They are fabulous companions, but their fur and hair shedding can sometimes get to be a bit much. This roller takes care of these issues quickly." —JoAnn Price: $24.99 (available in two colors and a limited-edition cat design) Promising reviews: "This device works overtime to make sure my house smells clean and fresh! It sits in our living room all day and continues to clear our air 24/7. I'm going to purchase another once we move. Set one in the living room, and the other can go where it's needed. The air that comes out of this machine smells sooooo fresh and crisp! Lol love it!" —Chase "My son has developed an allergy to cats over the last 3 years. Every time he comes home, he sneezes. I bought this before he came home for a fall break. He sneezed only for a little while the day he arrived, and after I moved the air purifier to an open area, his sneezes stopped. He only took 1 pill for that first day and stayed the rest of the week without taking any allergy pills. I think this thing works." —Maria Promising review: "This product really did what it says. I noticed a difference in the air quality after replacing my filter with this one." —Laura Price: $37.99+ for a pack of two (available in five sizes) Promising review: "I usually use 2.8- to 3-ounce cans for my kitty food. I was nervous that it wouldn’t fit my 2.8-ounce cans since it’s a peculiar size, but to my surprise, it did! Very happy with this versatile purchase." —Michelle Promising review: "I've been a 'cat daddy' since 2001. My first cat was well behaved, but my current 4-year-old cat is not very vocal and has decided to wake me in the morning (because she's hungry) by tearing up one particular section of carpet next to a wall just beneath the baseboard molding. It's so irritating, I have to get up immediately to stop her, and then I lose out on good sleep. This cat scratch deterrent spray stops her from clawing that spot anymore, and since using it, she finds other, less destructive ways to wake me, but this spray does exactly what I wanted it to do. It does not smell bad, pumps easily, and leaves no residue. Shipped out super fast, was well packaged and wrapped, also in its own tight plastic wrap to further prevent any damage or leaks. Thanks, Chewy!" —Steve Price: $18.95+ (originally $24.95; available in two sizes) I used to have an upholstered bed that my cat loooooved to claw at and scratch in the middle of the night to wake me up. I got these cause I wanted to get him to stop, and he would still paw at regular plastic, so I needed to have the version with stickiness on both sides to actually deter him. Promising review: "These are AMAZING! My Tito was like Edward Scissor-claws to every piece of furniture in the house (and this is why we can’t have nice things), and I had given up hope of ever having a new piece of fabric furniture. After purchasing a new couch, I bought these, praying they would work, and they do!! It’s so wonderful!! He’s not even interested in trying anymore, either. All I need to do now is buy some for my mattress, box spring, chairs..." —Danielle Price: $24.99 for 18 sheets (originally $34.99; available in two quantities) Promising review: "This scratcher is working out great for us. Our cat was trying to use it as we were sliding it under the leg of the couch! It seems sturdy. It wobbles a tiny bit, but not enough that she stops using it. It looks pretty nice as well (better than frayed couch fabric!). The curved design helps protect the front and side of the couch. We just wish we’d bought it before the destruction began!!" —Susan Price: $59.99+ (available in four colors) Promising review: “My Betty is a 15-year-old cat and is still able to jump up onto her (my) easy chair, but I do not like to think of the wear and tear on her legs when she jumps down. These foldable stairs work perfectly. Per the instructions, I placed some cat treats on each step and had her go up and down a couple of times — the treats gave her the idea, and now she uses it perfectly. Very satisfied and highly recommended. Can easily be folded and put away.” —teresa Price: $39.99+ (originally $59.99+; available in two sizes and two colors) It includes a water fountain, a filter, a cord, and an adapter. Promising review: "I don’t know who was more excited, me or my two girls! Baby Rae has to have every sink filled with cold water. This running sink is soo awesome! Nice cold water flowing out of the faucet constantly, and I don’t have to worry about forgetting to shut the water off!" —mary Promising review: "I take my dog with me as much as I can when I travel, and this was perfect to keep his supplies organized. I took both my dog and cat home for the holidays, and this bag had more than enough space to fit all of their food, toys, blankets, and Christmas PJs with plenty of room to spare." —Rebecca Price: $34.99 (originally $49.99; available in five colors) Promising review: "I bought two of these to put my cat food in because after a lot of rain from the hurricanes, ants were getting into my house and went straight for the cat food. I really like that they’re taller than most food storage containers with the screw-on lid (with a seal), so I don’t have to bend over so far to scoop the food out. Highly recommend these containers." —Tracy Price: $35.99+ (originally $56.99+; available in two sizes) Promising review: "I am only reviewing the first week of use — so not for longevity, to which I can’t speak, yet. This Dustbuster rocks! I love it and have been using it all week. It’s picked up a truckload of cat hair. It’s super duper lightweight, and I love having a cordless vacuum cleaner. It is making vacuuming up the cat hair actually fun now, whereas before I dreaded it. It’s so lightweight, I carry it around the house with me every day. Doing the stairs is now a breeze. I remember the original Dustbuster from when I was a kid; everyone had one, and in the ensuing decades, they were at every garage sale. This reinvented one is even better with its long sucking nozzle and tiny beater attachment." —Chris Promising review: "I've tried all kinds of mats; some work better than others, but this is the best by far. Yes, it is thin, but that doesn't seem to make a difference in terms of its functionality. Most of the tracked litter remains on the mat, and it is very easy to vacuum up (with a canister vacuum, not sure about an upright vacuum). The cats also like it because there's no weird texture for them to walk on. I also really like the "jumbo" size, which fits perfectly under a larger covered litter box — large enough to accommodate the entire litter box, with plenty of mat still visible in front of the box, to catch the litter as the cats exit. Just ordered two more." —MountainView Promising review: "I got this in blue a few weeks ago for my dogs and cats. I am a mobile groomer, and we have some older grinders like this without lights on them and Dremels in our vans. I prefer this to the Dremel brand because there is much less chance of the pet hair getting caught around the shaft! Also, the lights are a great help, and it is much quieter. It is lightweight, works on my giant dog and cats. My large dog is scared with nails; trying to use while he is sleeping. Good buy as well." —HappyDog Price: $27.99+ (originally $29.99; also available in blue) * If You Have Two Or More Cats, These 18 Products Will Be Downright Lifesavers * Sturdy Cat Trees That Can Actually Handle Large Cats Reviews for this post have been edited for length and/or clarity.
