Omarosa Drops ‘Little-Known Fact’ About Ron DeSantis And Trump’s ‘Apprentice’

Omarosa Manigault Newman doesn’t think Donald Trump Jr. has what it takes to replace his father as host of a potential reboot of “The Apprentice.” But there is one Trump family member who does fit the bill, she told CNN’s Erin Burnett this weekend. And that is ... Ivanka Trump. “The reason ‘The Apprentice’ worked and it was so successful was because Donald Trump was a businessman who had all these different avenues, from his golf courses to his hotels,” said Newman, a former “Apprentice” contestant who was later a Trump White House adviser and is now a Trump critic. “What will Don Jr. talk about in terms of his business successes?” she continued. “Of course, he’s worked for his father, but I don’t know that he’s had his own individual success.” Ivanka Trump, though, said Newman, has “a different level of charisma,” “good business acumen” and is “really sharp in the boardroom.” “Between the two of them, I would choose Ivanka as the host if the show actually came back,” she added. Newman and Burnett agreed the president himself offered only a lukewarm response to reports his eldest son could take over the show, which Amazon is reportedly considering reviving, and suggested he’d be far more enthusiastic if his eldest daughter were in the mix instead. Newman ended with “a little-known fact” involving Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), whose term ends in January 2027. She claimed he told her during “a random conversation” at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort that he had once tried out for the show. “He’s going to be out of a job soon. Maybe he could be considered for host,” she quipped. “Ron DeSantis, I wouldn’t have had that on my bingo card,” said Burnett, later adding: “I don’t think pretty much anybody knew that.” Watch the interview here: “Apprentice” star @Omarosa weighs in on reports the show could be returning with Don Jr. as host.
