The White House social media department decided to celebrate Cinco De Mayo by carrying on one of Donald Trump’s most dubious traditions: A racist tweet.

But this one came with a twist of partisanship.

In 2016 and again in 2025, Trump “celebrated” the Mexican holiday by posting a photo of himself eating the taco salad at Trump Tower.

On Tuesday, the White House posted its own, slightly different Cinco De Mayo tribute: An AI-generated picture of New York Democrats Sen. Chuck Schumer and House Minority Speaker Hakeem Jeffries wearing sombreros and drinking margaritas near a U.S. border crossing.

Below them is a sign that reads, “I love illegal immigrants.”

Creating posts designed to troll voters has become a regular task at the White House, which was criticized last week for posting a photo of King Charles and Trump captioned “Two Kings.”

Tuesday’s Cinco De Mayo post has since gone viral, but if Trump and his minions thought it would own those danged libs, they may be disappointed.

Turns out, Schumer was ready with his own post, this one showing the president in a sombrero with his former friend, disgraced sex trafficker and financier Jeffrey Epstein.
