(ABC News corroborated Hassett's statement about unemployment insurance claims being low, but also said, "Even if they’re not cutting jobs, employers haven’t been adding many either. Last year, companies, nonprofits, and government agencies added fewer than 10,000 jobs a month, weakest hiring outside recession years since 2002.")

(Hassett is, of course, referring to the Strait of Hormuz, which has been closed for 94 days. Most recently, Iran has said that they plan to "completely" block the Strait as peace negotiations appear to have fallen apart.)
