‘Shut Up About That S**t!’: Megyn Kelly Rips Trump Over Threat To Civilians

In an uncharacteristic move, Megyn Kelly put President Donald Trump on blast this week over his “negotiation tactics” in the Iran war, which have found him embracing his most extreme public rhetoric to date. On Tuesday’s episode of her SiriusXM radio show, Kelly declared she was “sick of this shit,” referring to Trump’s incendiary post on his Truth Social platform that morning in which he pledged “a whole civilization will die” if no deal between the U.S. and Iran could be reached by that evening. “I’m sick of it. Can’t he just behave like a normal human?” the former Fox News host said. “Just shut up ― fucking shut up about that shit! You don’t threaten to wipe out an entire civilization. We’re talking about civilians, just casually in a social media post.” No stranger to Trump’s social media attacks, Kelly said she considered her experience being on the receiving end of the president’s criticism “a gift,” given that it helped her “really come to understand” his online strategy. Still, she condemned Trump’s Iran threat as “completely irresponsible and disgusting,” adding: “He should not be doing it.” Watch a clip of Megyn Kelly’s comments on Trump’s Iran threat below. “His negotiation tactic is to kill an entire country full of civilians — men, women and children ... so that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened? It’s just wrong,” she said. “I wish he would stop doing this. ... He can’t be a dignified, strong leader without threatening a bunch of war crimes?” Kelly’s SiriusXM show aired just hours before Trump announced a two-week ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran had been reached. The agreement, however, came with the caveat that Iran must reopen the Strait of Hormuz, through which much of the world’s oil supply passes. Like Kelly, other members of Trump’s MAGA base were quick to condemn the president’s Iran threat from Tuesday morning. Far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who until recently has been loyal to Trump, described the president’s actions as that of “an unhinged super villain from a Marvel comic movie,” and even suggested “we 25th Amendment his ass.” Despite her recent criticisms of Trump, Kelly seems to have no further plan to distance herself from the president’s party ― at least for now. “Honestly, Trump could drop a nuke and I’d still vote Republican over those people,” she said Monday on her radio show, referring to Democrats. “Honestly, what they want to do is nuke our own country.” By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
